Craigieburn Aquatic Centre was a complex build, the first to move from an insulated panel roof to a built up system, whilst still maintaining the requirement for an airtight envelope. On top of that, considerations needed to be made to cater for condensation control as well as thermal and acoustic requirements. The wall cladding featured metallic Kingspan panels on angle, even to the 14m high slide tower. Built through the middle of one of the worst winters in living history, the project got off to a wet start however the end result is magnificent and enjoyed by almost 600,000 visitors each year.
